sad news

It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform the Williamstown FIDA community that former Seagull gun mid-fielder Taran “Taz” Toussaint has died today as a result of a recurrence of the brain cancer that he fought so successfully a few years ago. Taz, a graduate of Rosamond School, had one daughter. He will be long-remembered for his football skills his cheeky sense of humour, and his artistic ability. I have included a painting Taz did, called “I Guess I Will Always Be A Seagull”.
I have been in contact with Taz’s mum Debie a couple of times over the past few days. I taught Taz when he first came to Rosamond, and we have always stayed in touch. On Sunday, I asked Debie to pass on to Taz the good wishes of all the players and supporters. Debie said that when she said to Taz “Go Long With The Wind”, he opened his eyes.
Debie and Taz’s partner Yasmin, have asked for privacy at this point in time. If you would like to leave a tribute to Taz, please do it as a comment here. I will keep everyone informed about the date, time and location for the memorial service for Taz.
Sadly, once more we have to remember “Go Long With The Wind”.

Location

The Fearon Reserve, Williamstown
