Bendigo Bank Altona & Laverton Sponsorship
30 May by Rob Klemm
Transport is one of the biggest hurdles FIDA clubs and players face, particularly when participating in Away fixtures.
With a Metro competition which encompasses an area from Wyndham in the South-west, to Ballarat in the West, St Albans in the North-west, Eltham in the East, Ferntree Gully in the South-east and Cranbourne in Gippsland, amongst others, clubs have long distances to cover to play their games.
Many players and their families do not drive, and public transport is limited, infrequent and often unreliable on Sundays.
Williamstown Seagulls FIDA Football Club is therefore regularly required to organise bus transport to ensure that our teams have sufficient numbers for their games.
Bus hire is a costly expense to our club, so we are delighted to announce that Bendigo Bank Altona and Laverton is providing a $1000 travel subsidy to our club.
This will make a huge difference to our players, guaranteeing them safe arrival at their games at Fountain Gate (twice), Albert Park, Ferntree Gully, Monash, Ballarat and St Albans this year.
