Pride Round Feedback
29 Apr by Rob Klemm
Thanks to Lower Plenty Bears for joining us in our Pride Round on April 19.
We have had some amazing feedback - beautiful quotes from some wonderful people.
“Well done to creating such a safe, inclusive and fun environment for people to participate in and feel celebrated.” ~ Marnee S., Pride Cup
"Such a joy to be involved in the Pride game on Sunday. As a rainbow family member, friend and ally, it makes me incredibly happy to see this kind of inclusivity, radical acceptance and celebration of diversity. It will save lives! Go Seagulls!" ~ Ellie C., Seagulls supporter.
"Having a Pride Round for me as a Bisexual man who loves and plays footy is something that makes me feel very welcomed and valued. Hopefully we see more LGBT+ players out and about playing footy because footy is a game for everyone and when they feel accepted by their teams or the league it becomes beneficial for everyone and makes footy such an enjoyable experience." ~ Liam D., Lower Plenty Bears, player, musician.
"Attending the Pride Cup with FIDA at the Williamstown Seagulls was genuinely special for me. As an LGBTIQA+ person involved in community footy, seeing that level of visibility and support on and off the field really matters — it’s not just symbolic, it makes you feel like you truly belong. Days like this show how powerful community sport can be in bringing people together, breaking down barriers, and creating spaces where everyone is safe to be themselves." ~ Helen T, Seagulls supporter.
Attending the Pride Round with FIDA’s Williamstown Seagulls was an incredibly uplifting experience. As someone who doesn’t always feel safe or fully comfortable attending sporting events, this day genuinely meant a lot. The atmosphere was warm, joyful, and filled with a real sense of community ... alongside some fantastic football on display. Events like this create a space where people like me can show up, feel safe, valued, and truly included. A heartfelt thank you to Pride Cup for helping make sport a more welcoming place for everyone. ~ Hannah C., Seagulls supporter
